Festive Visit on the Occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi Promotes Communal Harmony

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi, a delegation from Holy Family Church, Omzoor, comprising Vice President Mr. Arthur D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Daffny Lewis, 19 Ayoga Coordinator Mr. Elroy Saldanha, and Convenor of the Inter-Religious Dialogue Commission Mrs. Gretta Crasta, along with members of the Commission, visited the Hindu community at Sevanjali, Farangipet, on 14th September 2026.

The delegation extended warm festive greetings to the Hindu community and met with religious leader Mr. Krishna Kumar Poonja. As a gesture of friendship, respect and communal harmony, a flower bouquet was presented to him.

The visit reflected the spirit of “Bandhutva”, the message of brotherhood, mutual respect and harmony promoted by the Bishop of Mangalore Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, and served as a meaningful expression of the Church’s commitment to fostering peaceful coexistence and strengthening interfaith relationships.

The delegation’s gesture highlighted the importance of building bridges of friendship and understanding among people of different faiths, contributing towards a united, peaceful and harmonious society.
