PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL EMPOWERED THROUGH INFORMATIVE TRAINING SESSION
A comprehensive training program for members of the Parish Pastoral Council was conducted to strengthen leadership, clarity of role, and pastoral engagement within the parish community, drawing an attentive assembly of 58 members.
The session commenced with a warm welcome delivered by Ayog Coordinator – Mr. Elroy Saldanha, who formally greeted the gathering. Resource person Rev. Fr. Praveen Joy Saldanha, Professor – Jeppu Seminary was florally welcomed prior to initiating his keynote address. Dignitaries present on the occasion included Parish Priest Rev. Fr. William Menezes, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Arthur D’Souza, Secretary Mrs. Daffny Lewis and Ayog Coordinator Mr. Elroy Saldanha.
During the session, Rev. Fr. Praveen Joy Saldanha delivered an insightful presentation on the historical context of how the Parish Pastoral Council came into existence. He detailed the key roles, responsibilities, and duties expected of the members of the Parish Pastoral Council to ensure effective local leadership. Furthermore, the
Speaker provided a thorough breakdown of the specific duties assigned to the various Commissions (Ayogs) and highlighted the critical importance of implementing a strategic pastoral plan for the parish’s growth.
The program concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Vice President Mr. Arthur D’Souza, expressing gratitude to the resource person and all members present for their active participation and dedicated service to the parish community.
