The ICYM Omzoor Unit, in collaboration with the Catholic Sabha Omzoor Unit and YCS Omzoor Unit, organised a visit to Seon Ashram Trust ®, Gandibagilu, Beltangady, with the objective of spending time with the residents of the Ashram and sharing moments of care, companionship and joy. The residents of Seon Ashram are fondly referred to as “Angels.”

The visit was attended by members of the ICYM, Catholic Sabha and YCS Omzoor Units. Mr. Artur Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Mrs. Daffny Lewis, Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, and Mr. Elroy Saldanha, Ayog Coordinator, also joined the members during the visit.

As part of the visit, the members interacted with the Angels, listened to their stories and experiences, and spent meaningful time with them. The interaction provided the members with an opportunity to understand their lives and experiences more closely and highlighted the importance of compassion, kindness, companionship and service towards others.

The parishioners of Holy Family Church, Omzoor, generously contributed groceries for the Ashram, including rice, atta, coconut, cooking oil, soap and other essential items. These groceries were collected by the members and donated to Seon Ashram on behalf of all the parishioners, reflecting the parish community’s spirit of generosity and concern for the Angels.

Mr. Mauseen, a donor of Seon Ashram, sponsored lunch as part of his birthday celebration. His generous contribution added a special touch to the occasion and provided an opportunity for the members and the Angels to share a meal together in an atmosphere of fellowship and joy.

Following lunch, a cultural programme was organised by the members. The programme commenced with a prayer service conducted by the Catholic Sabha Omzoor Unit, seeking God’s blessings for the Angels, the Ashram and all those involved in the visit. This was followed by lively dance performances by the YCS and ICYM members.

During the programme, Mr. Artur Dsouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, addressed the Angels with a few words of encouragement, appreciating their spirit and encouraging them to continue facing life with hope and courage. The programme was compered by Mrs. Babitha, a member of the Catholic Sabha, who guided the proceedings and helped create a warm and engaging atmosphere.

The ICYM members then conducted a series of action songs and interactive activities to engage the Angels. The Angels actively participated in the activities and thoroughly enjoyed the performances and interactions. Their enthusiastic participation and joyful response created a lively and memorable atmosphere throughout the programme.

During the visit, the members also had the opportunity to meet and express their gratitude to the founder of Seon Ashram, Mr. UC Paulos, and his wife, who are fondly referred to by the Angels as “Daddy and Mummy.” The members thanked them, along with the Management and staff of the Ashram, for their selfless service, dedication and commitment towards caring for and supporting the Angels.

The visit was a meaningful experience for all the members and provided an opportunity to share not only material assistance but also time, friendship and companionship with the Angels. It also brought together the parish community and its various organisations in a common effort to serve others and spread joy.

The visit to Seon Ashram reaffirmed the values of compassion, generosity, friendship and service, demonstrating that even simple acts of kindness and a few hours spent together can bring immense joy and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
