Omzoor Parish Accords a Warm Welcome to New Resident Priest, Rev. Fr. Rahul Dexter D’Souza
The Holy Family Church community was filled with joy as parishioners gathered to warmly welcome their new resident priest, Rev. Fr. Rahul Dexter D’Souza, who arrived accompanied by his family members, parishioners from Modankap, and his batchmate, Rev. Fr. Nelson Pais.
The welcoming ceremony commenced with the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. William Menezes, greeting Fr. Rahul with a traditional flower garland, followed by a floral presentation by the Parish Pastoral Council Vice President, Mr. Arthur D’Souza; Secretary, Mrs. Daffny Lewis; and Coordinator of Ayogs, Mr. Elroy Saldanha.
Mr. Arthur D’Souza formally introduced the new priest to the gathering, after which Mrs. Daffny Lewis presented a brief orientation, highlighting the rich history and various pastoral activities of Omzoor Parish for Fr. Rahul and the guests.
The programme then transitioned into a spiritual segment, during which Fr. William led a prayer service featuring a Gospel reading, invoking God’s blessings upon Fr. Rahul’s new pastoral mission.
In his address, Fr. Rahul expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception and humbly requested the continued prayers and wholehearted support of the parish community. He then imparted his blessings upon the congregation.
The memorable event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Elroy Saldanha, leaving the parish community in a spirit of joy, unity, and prayerful anticipation for a fruitful ministry ahead.
