A Night of Faith, Festivity, and Fellowship: Christmas Eve Celebration

Holy Family Church, Omzoor, witnessed a spiritually uplifting and joy-filled celebration of Christmas Eve, marked by prayer, music, and a deep sense of community togetherness. The solemn occasion began with melodious Christmas carols rendered by the Omzoor Choir Group, creating a reverent and festive atmosphere that prepared the faithful for the sacred celebration.
This was followed by the Holy Eucharistic Mass, with Rev. Fr. William Menezes as the main celebrant and Rev. Fr. Victor D’Souza as the co-celebrant. In his homily, the true essence of Christmas was highlighted—love, peace, humility, and the joyous birth of Jesus Christ, the Savior of mankind.
After the Mass, the celebrations continued with a vibrant cultural programme. A graceful procession portraying Mother Mary, Infant Jesus, and St. Joseph captivated the gathering, while little children dressed as Santa Claus added charm and delight, especially for the young and the young at heart. The festive spirit was further enhanced with the ceremonial cutting of the Christmas cake, joyfully shared by all present.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Fr. William Menezes emphasized the significance of Christmas and encouraged everyone to live out its message of compassion, sharing, and unity in daily life. Cultural performances presented by various parish associations added colour, energy, and enthusiasm to the evening.
The Christmas Eve celebration concluded on a joyful and meaningful note, leaving the faithful with hearts filled with hope, gratitude, and the true spirit of Christmas, while strengthening the bonds of faith and fellowship within the parish community.
